Honey: The healing properties of honey have been proven, especially in skin and wounds related diseases. Honey is extensively used due to its nutrients, antioxidants, enzymes and wound healing compounds for treatment of skin problems. Rich in antioxidants, honey helps reducing wrinkles and fighting skin aging. The antimicrobial and moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and restorative properties of honey are effective in healing skin problems.

Studies have revealed that honey has real inhibitory effects against 18 species of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, 7 species of vancomycin-sensitive enterococci and 20 species of vancomycin-resistant enterococci. The antimicrobial mechanism of honey is related to the production of hydrogen peroxide by glucose oxidase on wound area. Also, Inhibin enzyme secreted by bee glands in honey is transformed into hydrogen peroxide and gluconic acid, which have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, respectively. Honey protects tissue from damages caused by free radicals released by inflammatory cells, accelerates tissue repair and epithelialization, and speeds up wound healing due to its acidic nature, high sugar concentration and regulating up inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin 1 and 6.

Avocado oil: Avocado oil has moisturizing, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, restorative effects. The main components in avocado oil (50%) is oleic acid. Other components include: fatty acids, omega 3, 6 and 9, vitamins A, C, D, K, palmitic acid, beta carotene, linoleic acid and lecithin. Avocado oil has the following healing properties:

Stimulating collagen buildup: Collagen is the main protein in skin, playing a key role in skin elasticity and firmness. Avocado oil contains unsaturated fatty acids and natural steroids called Steroline, which soften the skin and by increasing collagen buildup, rejuvenate and renew skin cells.

Moisturizing property: Keeping the skin moisturized, it reduces dryness, itching, pain and inflammation, which can be effective in curing eczema and psoriasis.

Healing ulcers: Studies show that avocado oil is quick in healing ulcers, cuts and scars by increasing collagen production and reducing the number of inflammatory cells.

Treatment of sunburn: Having antioxidant properties and polyphenolic compounds, Avocado oil is effective in preventing and soothing the impacts of sunlight on the skin.

Zinc oxide, vitamins A and E: These compounds have astringent and antioxidant properties that are effective in wound healing and stability of formulation.

Pure medical lanolin: Lanolin in Januheal ointment has a pharmaceutical grade and is free of tint, odors and allergens. This compound is the purest type of lanolin available in the world, imported from abroad and passes all its related tests. Lanolin is known for its high emollient properties and has a formula similar to the structure of sebum (skin fat), which reduces water evaporation on the surface of the epidermis, softens the skin and increases the permeability of other active elements. It also works on healing area by absorbing free water and prevents growth of bacteria in the wound.
